PRP (platelet-rich plasma) for hair loss works by injecting the patient's own concentrated platelet-rich plasma into the hair follicles, which stimulates and reactivates dormant or weakened hair follicles to produce thicker and healthier hair.
The process begins by taking a small quantity of blood from the patient's arm; this is then placed in a Cellenis® centrifuge machine which separates the red blood cells from the plasma. The PRP is then injected into the scalp using a very fine needle, allowing the platelets to be delivered directly and efficiently to where they are needed to encourage hair growth.
Thanks to this process, hair follicles are nourished and stimulated in the scalp, resulting in an increase in blood flow to the area. PRP hair treatment typically requires a series of 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart, and results may vary from patient to patient, but all will be discussed during your initial hair loss consultation at EK Clinic.
To further enhance results, we recommend a course of 6 Biotin injections to be used in-conjunction with the PRP hair treatment.
PRP hair loss treatment can help with the following conditions: Post-Hair Transplant Stimulation, Alopecia, Menopause Hair Loss,
Male/Female Pattern Baldness, Thinning Hair.

FAQ
How many PRP hair treatments will I need?
The number of treatments you need depends on the condition and severity of your hair loss. Generally, it is recommended that patients receive three treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. After the initial course of treatments we recommend a maintenance treatment every 6 months in order to maintain the desired results.
Why do you recommend Biotin injections alongside PRP hair treatment?
Using Biotin in-conjunction with PRP helps to enhance the results. Read more about Biotin here.
What are the risks or potential side effects of the treatment?
A PRP injection is a low-risk procedure and does not usually cause major side effects. The procedure involves a blood draw, so you should make sure you are hydrated and have eaten beforehand to prevent feeling lightheaded. After the procedure, you may experience some soreness and bruising at the injection site. Rarer risks will be discussed at consultation.
Is this the right treatment for my type of hair loss?
